In the building of the Hofplein theater you can find a beautiful piece of art: stained glass in concrete wall designed by the Dutch artist Karel Appel. This wall comes to life inside of the building through natural light during the daytime. To let it shine by evening and night as well, I created a lighting design in collaboration with Tom Stiegelis, which is dynamic as well as being a stand-alone installation. With the use of spotlights it can be illuminated as a whole as well as on a detailed level.  This way the rich colors and touching figures in the wall come to life which also has a positive effect on the poorly lit square around it.
This new light installation was realised thanks to Kim van Wijk, the head of the technical department of the theatre.
